Ever watched Brad Pitt, Sylvester Stallone, George Clooney or Matt Damon starring in one of their hit films and thought: I could do that? Well, here’s your chance!!
Kent based company Viola Films, is searching for a lead actor to star in Magwitch, a new short film, shooting over four days in and around Kent in late September. Auditions will be held on Saturday 13 August at Rochester Cathedral.
Magwitch tells the story of Charles Dickens’ most famous convict from ‘Great Expectations’ and will be receiving its world premiere during the Dickens Bicentenary celebrations in 2012. With support from Rochester Cathedral and Medway Council, the film is already attracting a lot of interest and creating an industry buzz.
Sam Supple, Creative Director of viola|films who has worked on productions such as Foyle’s War, The Bill and with Natalie Portman on The Other Boleyn Girl as well as Jack Black in Gullivers’ Travels, says:
“I’m looking for someone with the X factor to take the title role in Magwitch. The search is on for a real man, a local man who can get inside Magwitch’s head. No previous experience is required and could be an advantage, we need someone who is raw and passionate. Magwitch is rugged, aged around 35 and has seen a lot of life- if this is you and you want an exciting new experience give us a call”.
Viola Films are looking for a range of committed actors, male and female, young and old for a number of roles, so if you think you’ve got what it takes, email violafilms@sky.com or call 07845 429370 for further information.
