A new bi-monthly event is taking place at Whitstable’s Horsebridge Centre, entitled ‘She Writes’ and presented by 17Percent, an organisation supporting and promoting female playwrights.

Female playwrights are invited to submit micro plays of up to six minutes and featuring no more than four actors, to take part in a showcase of rehearsed readings. An open mic poetry reading is also included in the evening and this is open to both male and female poets.

The first show is on October 12^th, with the deadline for submissions the 16^th September. It is themed around a menu and submissions should fit into one of three categories ‘Starter’ ‘Main’ or ‘Dessert’.
