The creative lovechild of exceptional Medway talent, Samuel Supple and producer Debra McGee, violaFilms will be running an intensive two day film school for young people aged 14-21 in February next year, based in the artists’ resource space in the Rochester Information Centre. With space for 10-12 students, the 48 hour challenge will include how to write, direct and storyboard, to help them find their way into the business.
Having met a lot of stage trained people who are looking to transfer those skills to film, Sam and Debra hope to follow this up with violaLab classes for film and TV acting, open to any age and experience.
Auditions for Magwitch, their short prequel to next year’s Dickens bi-centenary celebration screenings of Great Expectations, took place last weekend and filming for this is scheduled throughout Medway in September.
