‘A Sense of Place’ is an exciting new film competition, challenging young people between the ages of 7-19 (up to 25 with special educational needs) living in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Luton, Essex and North Kent (this includes Dartford, Gravesham, Medway and Swale) to make a film in 8 weeks.
Film and TV industry professionals will judge the films and winners will be invited to an award ceremony to receive a £500 prize.
The competition has been developed by the Royal Opera House Bridge, is supported by Elstree Studios, and delivered by Elstree Film Design Ltd. It aims to encourage work in collaboration with students, schools and community groups.
There are four award categories. Best Interpretation, Best Story, Best Look and Best Sound. Judges will be looking for a mixture of creative and technical accomplishment. Deadline is Wednesday, July 2nd, with the winners announced on Friday, July 11th and the awards ceremony taking place Wednesday, July 16th.
