Developing your voice: Next steps in Creative Writing

Writing

A new creative writing course is beginning at Rochester Library in June.

Developing your voice: Next steps in Creative Writing is organised by University of Kent and will be led by Dorothy Lehane, author of Ephemeris (Nine Arches Press, 2014) and Places of Articulation (dancing girl press, 2014).

This free 6 week course is for existing and new writers to develop their skills. By the end the course you will be able to respond to and assess pieces of writing with sensitivity, recognise devices and techniques used by writers and apply these to your own work. The course runs on Thursdays from 1000 – 1200. The dates are: 04, 11, 18, 25 June, 02 and 09 July.

Booking a place is essential; this can be done by calling 01634 337799 or by email to rochester.library@medway.gov.uk

Dorothy teaches Creative Writing and is a PhD candidate in Poetry: Text as Practice at the University of Kent. Her recent poetry can be found in Tears in the Fence, Zone Magazine, Glasgow Review of Books and HARTS & Minds.
