In conjunction with Nucleus Arts and the Chatham Maritime Trust, the Rochester Literature Festival brought its Memory Box project to Platters Farm Lodge, a respite, rehabilitation and day care centre in Rainham, Kent.
Festival Director Jaye Nolan led on oral histories, while artist Sheilagh Dyson oversaw craft workshops with participants, helping them recreate physical mementos from their memories, as well as other activities to bring them all together, to promote a sense of community and to help overcome social isolation.
The project took place across April and May 2016.
