The Rochester Literature Festival is delighted to have been awarded Small Experiment Funding by Ideas Test, to run a project entitled Watts The Story? with the residents of the Richard Watts Almshouses in Rochester.
We’re looking to engage a craft artist/maker for the duration of Watts the Story? which will take place at the main residence in Maidstone Road, Rochester.
The total fee is £600 and the workshops will be held on the following dates (all Thursdays): October 8/15/22/29 between 10am-4pm.
Watts the Story? is an experiment to see how reflective the residents are about their lives and how creative and innovative they can be in telling their stories.
Working with Festival Director Jaye Nolan and photographer Nikki Price, the artist will help the residents to personalise and create keepsakes for their own Memory Box.
Many people have a collection of photos and keepsakes; for some it’s the only tie left with their family and friends from years ago. However, some people have only what’s in their head. The RLF aims to bring their favourite memories together for them in one place.
For the full brief and details of how to apply, please email Jaye at rochesterlitfest@gmail.com.
Deadline for applications is 5pm Friday, September 4th. Interviews will be held during the weeks commencing September 7th and 14th.
